New Dawn Government Outlines Commitment To Lowering The Cost Of Living

Media Director, Thabo Kawana, Ministry of Information and Media has outlined that the government will initiate and coordinate policy to lower the cost of living.

 He said that this was shown through the appreciation of the Kwacha.

 Additionally, he encouraged the business community to act accordingly and work to ensure supplies remain fruitful. He explained that increasing the supply of goods will lower their costs.

 Following a visit to some chain stores at Kitwe’s Mukuba Mall branch, he commended the stores operating in the shopping centre for reducing the price of basic commodities owing to the bullish kwacha.

 Furthermore, in an interview with the Zambian media ZNBC Mr. Kwana encouraged Zambians to remain positive about the IMF package stating that the deal will help actualise the government’s strategic reforms and deliver on economic transformation within the country.
