HH Empowers Zambian Artists with K400,000 Investment

President Hakainde Hichilema has underscored the UPND government's support for musicians, having announced an allocation of K400,000 for the construction of recording studios in selected provinces.

The initiative aims to empower artists and foster the expansion of the country's music industry.

Addressing challenges faced by musicians, particularly those from distant provinces who struggle with travel to major recording hubs like Lusaka or the Copperbelt, President Hichilema convened a meeting with artists at State House.

During the meeting he encouraged them to seize government-provided empowerment opportunities, he specifically urged the youth to explore diverse enterprises.

President Hichilema proposed the creation of an artistic fund, allowing stakeholders to contribute to the music industry's growth and its increased contribution to the nation's Gross Domestic Product.

Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Elias Mubanga assured musicians of upcoming financial support to enhance their skills, emphasising an inclusive approach for artists of all backgrounds.

The meeting covered various issues affecting the music industry, and President Hichilema assured artists of the government's dedication to addressing their concerns.
