New Coal Discovery Promises 25 Years of Resources at Maamba Collieries
Maamba Collieries Limited has identified new coal deposits projected to last over 25 years. According to MCL Mining Engineer Nyemba Mwanza, these reserves were discovered in their ten-year mining blocks. One of the significant sites currently undergoing mining and exploration activities is the Kaziza site.
Mwanza shared this update during a visit to the Izuma mining site by Jito Kayumba, Special Assistant to the President. This discovery promises a substantial extension of the mining operations at Maamba Collieries, securing long-term coal resources for the region.
