Zambia: Kenyan company DigiTax visits Zambia to help businesses adopt new electronic invoicing
Namiri Technology’s Kenyan tax compliance tool, DigiTax, has launched in Zambia in response to the new e-invoicing regulations under the VAT (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 2023.
Zambian businesses are required to use smart invoices from July 1, 2024, to improve tax compliance, combat fraud and increase the efficiency of government revenue collection.
Gilbert Lungu, who has worked at MTN, Airtel and Cellulant, has been appointed as the Country Manager of DigiTax in Zambia.
DigiTax , a Kenyan e-tax compliance solution owned by Namiri Technology , has launched in Zambia, following the country’s adoption of e-invoicing regulations under the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 2023.
The new regulations, which will come into effect on July 1, 2024, require businesses to adopt smart invoices to streamline tax compliance, reduce fraud and improve the efficiency of government revenue collection.

Key points to remember
The launch of DigiTax in Zambia is part of the country’s efforts towards digital tax compliance through e-invoicing. It will help Zambian businesses comply with the new e-invoicing rules introduced by the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), which mandate the use of software solutions to manage and transmit invoice and inventory data electronically.
