Government Condemns Brutal Killing Of 17 Year Old Boy
The government has condemned the brutal killing of a 17 year old boy by pupils at a rival school in Lusaka.
The grade 12 boy, who has not been named, was a pupil at the Kabulonga Boys Secondary School. He was allegedly attacked and killed by a group of similarly aged students from the Twin Palm Secondary School nearby. It is unknown what prompted the attack.
Speaking on the incident, national guidance and religious affairs minister Godridah Sumaili said what had happened was unacceptable and should not be tolerated in Zambia.
“We are deeply saddened that the life of a young boy was lost in such a manner, we are appealing to the parents to ensure their children are brought up in a peaceful environment for them to be responsible citizens,” Rev. Sumaili said.
The minister added that the teaching of Christian values should start at home and that parents have a large role to play in instilling morals in their children.
“This should not be condoned in a Christian nation and we shall not accept such conducts,” she concluded.
