Copperbelt Province Minister Praises President HH

Elisha Matambo, Copperbelt Province Minister, has expressed to President Hakiande Hichilema that the province is pleased with the UPND Government.

The statement came whilst the minister was welcoming the president to the Copperbelt, during the officiation at the National Agriculture Field Day in Munkumpu on Friday.

He stated that “The people of Copperbelt are very happy with the achievements you (President Hichilema) have made with your team just in eight months which others failed to do in 10 years.”

 

Government Attracts $1.2 Billion Investments During Mining Indaba

The New Dawn Government has attracted over US$1.2 billion worth of Foreign Direct Investment during the recent Africa Mining Indaba.

The announcement was also commended by The Cleaning Association.

The investments include First Quantum Minerals’ approved plans for a $1.25 billion expansion of its Kansanshi mine.

 

 

US Applauds FQM Investment into Zambian Mining Sector

Jose Fernandez, US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, has commended First Quantum Minerals (FQM) for investing US$1.35 billion into the Zambian mining industry.

The Department of State also applauded the company for the safe and efficient production of its goods.

The announcement came during a visit to FQM’s Trident operations at Kalumbila in North-Western Province
