PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO VISIT LUAPULA PROVINCE
President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to visit Luapula province today.
The two-day visit will see him attend the Mutomboko Traditional Ceremony and the ‘Meet and Greet the Republican President Gala Dinner’ in Mansa.
The gala is a fundraising initiative for the UPND. Meanwhile, the Traditional Ceremony is set to attract people throughout Zambia.
ZAMBIA RUGBY TEAM SET TO PLAY FIJI AT COMMONWEALTH GAMES
The Zambia Sevens Team is set to play Fiji at the Common Wealth Games in Birmingham today.
The team’s coach Musonda Kaminsa said he was upbeat ahead of the game.
The team will be playing in the Group C of the rugby competition and will also play Wales and Canada in the upcoming days.
CHIEF MPANDE HAS PASSED AWAY
On Wednesday, Chief Mpande of the Mambwe people of Senga Hill District in Northern Province passed away.
The former Chief had served as the minerals economist and lecturer at the School of Mines at the University of Zambia.
His death was confirmed by Senga Hill District Commissioner, Jestus Sikazwe, who said he passed away at 19:30 on Thursday evening.
