Police Arrest Three In Connection With Viral Sex Video

Three women have been arrested and charged by police for circulating, what is now a viral, sex video with a mentally challenged man.

The incident occurred on 4th September at the Mindolo market which sparked concern from a member of the public who reported the crime.

 The suspects include Thandiwe Phiri 43, Kangwa Chembeya and Mary Mugala.

Following an evening of drinking beer at their house share in Mindolo the three called the victim to join them. After the victim was sufficiently intoxicated the one enticed him to have carnal knowledge while the other filmed the act.

The video was then circulated on social media the following day.

Sharon Zulu, the Copperbelt Province Commanding Officer, said that all three have been detained.

During a speech, she said “Members of the public saw it on social media and reported it to the police. Upon receipt of the report, police followed up on the matter and managed to apprehend the three women behind the video. The three are  currently detained in lawful custody for two counts Making and Circulation of Obscene matter and Having Carnal knowledge of an imbecile or Person with Mental illness.”

The officer also asked community members who may know the victim’s family to come forward for questioning and to ensure that he receives the correct care.
