Zambia Flying Doctor Service Partners With Zambian Air Force To Increase Healthcare Provision

The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) and the Zambian Air Force (ZAF) have partnered to improve the provision of medical care throughout Zambia.

The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding designed to improve access to medical care in remote areas.

This includes the provision of aircrafts by ZAF as well as crews and maintenance.

Rosemary Kumwenda, ZFDS Board Chairperson, said that the organisation had reached out to the air force after they had faced supply issues.

Meanwhile, ZAF Chief of Training Kamima Nyirenda, General Barry said “ZAF is proud to be associated with such efforts to enhance quality health in its service to the country.”

The news comes as ZFDS announced that they would double outreach efforts in 2023.
