10 Children in Zambia to Receive Free Heart Surgeries by UK Doctors

Over ten children are set to receive free open-heart surgeries from the United Kingdom (UK) based medical team of Healing Little Hearts at the National Heart Hospital in Lusaka.

The Trade Kings Group has played a pivotal role in making this initiative a reality. Bridget Kambobe, Trade Kings Group Manager, said, “We are grateful for the work that the local team and your team are doing; I want to use this opportunity to say to the National Heart Hospital that the foundation remains resolved to saving people’s lives.”

Dr Anthony Hemuzi, Healing Little Hearts consulting paediatric, said, “We learn so much; so as well as helping individual children and communities, you are helping our team.”

Dr Chabwela Shumba, Senior Medical Superintendent at National Heart Hospital, said, “Partnering with well-known organisations like this means we are en route to becoming a paediatric cardiology centre of excellence.”

Healing Little Hearts provides free heart surgery to babies and children in developing countries; this will be the first time such procedures will be carried out in Zambia.
