Digital Management System Introduced for Daily Partners
A local agriculture company has introduced a management system aimed at digitising operations for smallholder dairy farmers.
According to Anne Mwansa, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Farming Solutions, the Komu Dairy Management System will allow farmers to manage their milk transactions in real-time and receive extension messages.
The digital platform consists of several dairy management modules and is connected to multiple service providers, including livestock and veterinary services to provide guidance. This connectivity is designed to empower and assist farmers in effectively managing the dairy sector as a business.
The platform also has a credit facility under the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) allowing farmers to receive financial information.
Mwansa described the platform as “a holistic approach in terms of creating dairy farming as a business moving from hand-to-mouth consumption to becoming a very profitable business. We’re ready to partner with different stakeholders and give information to the farmer and empower the farmer. Once we empower the farmer, we will empower all of us.”
