US Congressional Delegation Meets With New Dawn Government To Discuss Economic Cooperation

A United States Congressional delegation has visited Zambia to witness first-hand the US government's support for the country.

The delegation was led by Congressman Ron Kind and included Congressman Brad Sherman and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood.

During their visit, the delegation met with President Hakainde Hichilema, Vice President Mutale Nalumango, and other government officials. They also visited the Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies and toured a health facility supported by the US government.

Congressman Kind praised President Hichilema's efforts to strengthen democracy and good governance in Zambia and expressed the US government's commitment to supporting the country's development.

He highlighted the US government's support for Zambia's health sector, particularly in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and its efforts to promote trade and investment between the two countries. 

The delegation also commended the peaceful and democratic transfer of power in Zambia and expressed their hope that the country would continue on a path of progress and development.

President Hichilema expressed his appreciation for the US government's support for Zambia and highlighted his government's commitment to democracy, good governance, and economic development.

He emphasized the need for continued partnership between the US and Zambia and expressed his hope that the two countries would work together to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The US Congressional delegation's visit to Zambia underscores the importance of the relationship between the two countries and highlights the US government's commitment to supporting Zambia's development.
