ACC Arrests Sergeant Over Corruption Charges

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) have released a statement confirming the arrest of Sergeant Susan Yuyi on charges of Abuse of Authority and Corrupt Practices involving K50,000.

Susan Yuyi, a Police Officer of Kabulonga Police Post, has been charged with one count of Abuse of Authority of Office and three counts of Corrupt Practices by a Public Officer.

In Lusaka between 1st January 2023 and 18th April 2024, Sergeant Yuyi allegedly misrepresented a complaint and received K10,000 and K2,500 from the affected parties. Between March 30, 2024, and April 18, 2024, in Lusaka, she was accused of soliciting K50,000 from the same individual.

The Anti-Corruption Commission recovered the K10,000 bribe during an operation.

Sergeant Yuyi has been released on bond and is awaiting her court appearance.
