Recognition for Public Institutions on Africa Public Service Day
On 23 June, Africa Public Service Day was celebrated in Lusaka, launched by Vice President, Mutale Nalumango. The theme of this year’s event was “Empowering a Centric Public Service for an Inclusive and Thriving 21st Century Africa: A Journey of Lifelong Learning and Technological Transformation.”
The government has made a concerted effort to promote maximising efficiency in public service institutions. It has sponsored a range of government officials in programs for strategic management, digital literacy, public-private partnerships and economic governance.
Vice President Nalumango affirmed continued, prolonged investment in the public sector to fortify efficiency and productivity.
The government recognised the following public institutions for their performance:

The event was not only an opportunity to recognise and appraise the positive progress and committed work of public institutions, but also to incentivise for the work to continue maintaining public services in the country to be inclusive, effective and reliable.
The inclusion of ‘Technological Transformation’ in the theme of the event also indicates the ‘lifelong’ aims of the government to advance Zambia’s technological capacity so it can embrace the future benefits of digitisation.
