FAZ Tells Fans To ‘Behave’

The Football Association of Zambia has advised the public to exhibit exemplary behaviour during Zambia’s Africa Cup qualifier against Guinea Bissau next week to avoid any disruptions that could lead to a FIFA fine or ban.

FAZ communication manager Desmond Katongo said Wednesday’s game will be closely monitored by FIFA and CAF.

“Thus, we are appealing to our fans to desist from engaging in any form of behaviour that would disrupt the game. These actions have previously cost the association a lot of money through FIFA and CAF fines,” he said. ”Let us turn up in huge numbers and give support to our team. “

Katongo also said tickets for the 2019 AfCON qualifier are available in all Shoprite outlets countrywide through Computicket.

“FAZ wishes to urge the public to take advantage of this window and buy tickets for this crucial and must-win encounter to be played at National Heroes Stadium on October 10, 2018,” he said.

He warned of dire consequences for unauthorised traders who buy tickets in bulk and later selling them at exorbitant prices.

“We are aware that there are unscrupulous traders who are in the business of making and selling counterfeit tickets to unsuspecting soccer fans. Consequently, FAZ has introduced an electronic system that will allow us to scan all tickets that will be sold at the match venue on entry. FAZ has also engaged the law enforcement agencies to ensure that all those found wanting are arrested,” said Katongo.

Wednesday match kicks off at 17:30 hours, with tickets going for K300 (VIP), west wing K100, east wing K50, and north/south wing K20.
