Zambia Set For COSAFA U20 Final
The Zambian U20 team will today face South Africa in the COSAFA U20 Cup final.
Having beaten the Angolan side 3-0 in the semi-final match at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, the team have made the final for the first time in three years.
Defending champions South Africa secured their place in the final following a 2-2 draw against Madagascar. The outcome was decided on penalties, with South Africa winning the day 5-4.
Zambia last made the final in 2016 when they were victorious over then-hosts South Africa 2-1. The team has won the tournament a total of 11 times to date.
Zambia has scored nine goals in the tournament so far, with striker Francisco Mwepu on course to take the Golden Boot having scored four goals.
Angola and Madagascar will also take to the field again today, as the sides compete for third place.
