Chelsea reject Real Hazard bid
The Spanish giants have long admired the Belgian playmaker and are keen to add him to their attacking ranks this summer
Chelsea have reportedly rejected Real Madrid’s initial offer for Eden Hazard - with the Blues holding out for a transfer fee of at least £85million.
The Spanish giants have long admired the Belgian playmaker and are keen to add him to their attacking ranks as part of their squad overhaul this summer.
Hazard’s contract at Stamford Bridge ends in June 2020 and the Blues want to renew his deal, although he has previously stated he would like to move to the Spanish giants.
And, according to the Daily Record , Madrid have stepped up their interest by making their first offer for the former Lille star.
Chelsea , however, have rejected their first bid and believe Real should smash their transfer record if they want to sign Hazard.
The Bernabeu outfit forked out a record £85.3m to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham in 2013, and the Blues want their Spanish rivals to break the bank again.
That is despite the fact that Hazard will enter the last year of his contract this summer, with Chelsea regarding their star as one of Europe’s brightest talents.
t’s also claimed that the Hazard interest is additional to Real president Florentino Perez wanting to bring Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar to the Bernabeu.
Hazard, meanwhile, has made no secret of his dream to play for Real Madrid .
“Real Madrid is the best club in the world,” Hazard was quoted as saying by ESPN last year. “I don’t want to lie, it is my dream since I was a kid.
“I don’t want to talk about this every day. I don’t have time, but we will talk about my future soon.
“In my head, sometimes I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future.
“It is also when you have a dream and you want to make it happen. It is like I have said a lot of times, if I leave I will be happy, I know if I stay I will be happy.”
