Premier League To Kick Off October 31st
The Zambian Premier League will kick-off this weekend on October 31st. The start date for the League was announced following the approval of fixtures by the Executive Committee of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
According to FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala the various hurdles have been cleared to ensure that the season can go ahead. He also confirmed that clubs will have to adhere to the Covid-19 health protocols in order to participate.
Week one fixtures are scheduled as follows: Power Dynamos Vs Young Green Eagles, Kitwe United Vs Prison Leopards, Buildcon Vs Lusaka Dynamos, Green Buffaloes Vs Red Arrows, Napsa Stars Vs Zesco United, Zanaco Vs Indeni, Forest Vs Nkana, Kabwe Warriors Vs Green Eagles, Lumwana Radiants Vs Nkwazi.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo have had recovery training following their 3-1 victory against Ethiopia this Sunday. The match was an international friendly match played at the Addis Ababa stadium and was their second win against the Walias. Chipolopolo previously won 3-2 on 22 October, 2020.
Other international friendlies played this month include two victories, one against Malawi (1-0) and one against South Africa (2-1), as well as one defeat against Kenya (2-1).
The matches are part of the team’s preparation for back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifier matches against Botswana in November and the January 2021 African Nations Championship in Cameroon.
