Green Eagles Fail To Top Super Division
The Green Eagles failed to top the FAZ Super Division league table on Sunday after drawing 1-1 against the Green Buffaloes in Lusaka.
Buffaloes midfielder Jack Chirwa pulled his team ahead at the 58th minute, scoring the club’s first league goal of the season so far after two excruciating nil-nil draws.
Eagles’ Hosea Silwimba then managed to equalise with a nail biting goal in the 90th minute - holding the team’s second place spot in the league.
Forest currently top the league following a similar 1-1 draw against the Lusaka Dynamos on Saturday. The Red Arrows and Green Eagles are drawn for second place on 7 points, with Buffaloes coming in at 12th on 3 points.
Further frustration came at the Lusaka derby fixture between Zanaco and Nkwazi this weekend, with another 1-1 draw between the bitter rivals.
The league now takes a ten day break to allow for the FIFA International Match week.
