Indeni F.C. Hire Dabid Chilufya As Head Coach

Indeni F.C. have hired former Zanaco assistant coach Dabid Chilufya to take over as head of the FAZ National Division 1 side.

Club Secretary Andrew Choolwe announced Mr Chilufya’s contract would run for only six months, with the hope being that the club can secure promotion to the Super Division before the season ends in just ten games.

The appointment marks Mr Chilufya’s return to coaching, after he was sacked by Zanaco as first assistant coach ten months ago. He was up against tough competition for the Indeni job, with ex-Mufulira Wanders coaches Anderson Phiri and Allan Kamwanga also in the running.

Chilufya replaces former head coach Mathews Ndhlovu, who will continue to guide the  Ndola-based team from a less senior position on the sidelines.

Indeni are currently third in the league with 46 points: just one point behind joint leaders Prison Leopards and Young Green Eagles, who are separated on goal difference.

If promoted, it will be the first time the team has played in the top division since 2014.
