Micho Elated With Daka, Mwepu Liverpool Show
Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is elated by the Red Bull Salzburg pair of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu’s shift against English Premiership champions Liverpool in a pre-season friendly.
Daka netted a brace in the two sides’ 2-2 draw at the Red Bull Arena that saw Mwepu also handed a starting berth.
Mwepu and Daka’s terrific Tuesday showing was also complemented by Evans Kangwa and Gamphani Lungu who also scored for their clubs.
“Having in mind that Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu are in their last year of stay with Red bull Salzburg, every single move they do on the field, let alone goals scored and performance presented are opening doors for them for highest possible European and World level,” said an ecstatic Micho.
“Special benefit of goals scored against Liverpool and performance presented are self-confidence and self-belief that has been injected inside their mind showing them that they can play against and outplay the best of the best including Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and others as World best.”
The Serb has urged the players not to take their feet off the pedal by continuing to work hard.
“However they need on the wings of confidence they have earned to keep up being hardworking players that enjoy their football and are still far from their best version that Zambians are expecting to see in Red bull Salzburg and also Chipolopolo jersey,” he said.
Micho also said that he was happy that more Zambian players ate getting some game time which could translate into a stronger Chipolopolo.
Daka dazzled the watching world as he struck twice in 10 minutes to give Red Bull Salzburg a 2-0 lead.
However second half substitute for Liverpool Rhian Joel Brewster struck in the 72nd and 81st minute.
