Shepolopolo Should Work On Fitness – Banyana Banyana Coach
Desiree Ellis, Banyana Banyana South Africa coach, says that Shepolopolo must improve their game in order to compete favourably at the delayed Tokyo Olympics this summer.
In a match in Johannesburg between the two teams on Saturday, the South African side beat Shepolopolo 3-1.
The post-match interview with Ellis saw her advising the Zambian Women’s team, saying that the Zambian’s reliance on striker Barbra Banda allowed her South African team to win the match.
“And I think maybe the reliance on Barbra too much, to play other players in I think that will help out the team,” Ellis said.
Finishing her post-match interview, Ellis commented on the importance of physical fitness within the game.
“I think conditioning is key. We always say if we are in good physical shape because we can play then we can match any team.”
