ZESCO United’s Hopes of Double Glory Banished
ZESCO United have returned to the FAZ Super League after their loss against Lusaka Dynamos in the ABSA Cup Final on Saturday.
Played at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka, the ABSA Cup Final score ended 3-1 in post-match penalties, enabling the Dynamos to secure the lead.
If ZESCO had won their match at the weekend, they would have been in for a real chance at winning two competitions in 2021.
Today the team are due to host tenth-place Red Arrows at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
On first meeting in December, Red Arrows held ZESCO United at 0-0. The Arrows are in a desperate race to be placed in the league’s top four, with only ten matches left.
A win for ZESCO today is vital as they are currently only five points ahead of second place Forest Rangers.
