Mining and Technical Expo Kicks Off Today

Today marks the beginning of the Mining and Technical Exhibition (MTE) in Kitwe, Zambia.

The event will see top mining companies, such as Chibuluma Mines and Mopani Copper mine, participating.

Additionally, visitors can see a range of mining-related products from mining software to direct hydraulic drives.

Similar events will take place throughout Sub-Saharan Africa with many countries taking part to showcase innovative technologies within the mining sector.

Following the election of the New Dawn Government, the mining sector has seen a resurgence with companies such as First Quantum Minerals investing USD 1.2 billion into the Kansanshi copper mine.

The investments in Zambian mining can be attributed to the favourable business environment and the sustainable growth of Zambia’s economy.

Such growth and investment are set to rise with the demand for copper increasing as renewable energy becomes more favourable and other suppliers, such as Chile, face political turmoil.

The event represents a critical point in Zambian mining where suppliers will be able to showcase key products that will help to ramp up the country’s mining capacity and foster growth and development.
