Police Investigate Gunshots At Football Match
The police are investigating the firing of right gunshots during a football match in Eastern Province last weekend.
It is alleged that Zesco Chipata FC’s Esau Chalo Zulu fired the shots, three on the field at the end of the match and then five more near the team’s vehicle.
The match saw that Zesco Chipata FC take on local rivals Prison Leopards Chipata FC, losing 1-0.
According to police the accused, Zulu, has admitted to firing the shots but claims these were made in self-defense as he attempted to disperse threatening crowds.
The gun has been confiscated.
