University Teaching Hospital Receives Therapeutic Machine Donation
The non-governmental organisation Seed of Hope Children’s Ministry has donated a paediatric diagnostic therapeutic machine worth US$35,000 to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Children’s hospital.
The machine is intended to help provide special treatment to children with health complications.
Seed of Hope Children’s Ministry International Director John Chalkias said the provision of the equipment is a step in the right direction for modernising children’s health care in Zambia.
He added that his organisation, which has been working in Zambia for over 20 years, will continue looking into the plight of children with health complications.
Dr Makupe, Ministry of Health Director of clinical care services, commented that excellence without good equipment cannot be achieved.
UTH has been struggling with equipment, so the donation of this machine is incredibly timely.
The equipment will enhance the hospital’s ability to diagnose children faster, enabling them to intervene at an earlier stage.
Zambia Paediatric Association President Musaku Mwenechanya expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with the donors, with hope that such a gesture could be offered in the future to increase healthcare provisions within the country.
