Girl Fakes Her Own Kidnapping At Boyfriend’s House

Following a police investigation, it has been revealed that a teenage girl has faked her own kidnapping.

The girl, aged 19, left her home on the 16th of October to go to church but instead went to her boyfriend’s house.

After she failed to attend church her uncle called the police to report the girl missing.

It was also noted that her uncle had received a call from the alleged abductors asking him to pay a ransom of K50 000 within 48 hours threatening her life if he failed to meet it.

However, two days later her aunt called her niece who answered stating he was being held captive in a house with ten other girls.

The police later found the girl three days later, on the 19th of October, at her boyfriend's house.

She has since been detained and will appear in court soon.

The Zambian Police Service Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, stated that anyone who commits perjury and falsely accuses someone of being abducted will be fully prosecuted for time wasting.

He stated, “We are encouraging the citizenry to join hands with the police in the fight against crime for the betterment of our society.”
