LION SIGHTING IN CHIRUNDU
A lone lion was sighted in Chirundu on Monday.
Villagers managed to scare the big cat away to another town where it killed four goats.
The authorities were notified of the lion’s presence but before they could kill the animal the lion had already moved on to the other town.
ENERGY MINISTER PRAISES BILATERAL TIES WITH UK
The government has thanked the UK for its continued technical and financial support in various sectors of the economy.
Nicholas Wooley, a British High Commissioner to Zambia, thanked the UK for its commitment to the provision of free education in Zambia.
Meanwhile, Peter Kapala, Minister of Energy, said that Zambia had benefited from donations in areas such as health, education, agriculture, mining and energy among other sectors.
WORKERS' COMPENSATION SET TO INCREASE
A bill to increase workers' compensation has been approved by the New Dawn Government.
The bill outlines plans to increase monthly payments for injured workers from K150 to K400 minimum, per month.
The new price rise is set to compensate the beneficiaries for the rise in the cost of living.
