President Hakainde Hichilema Encourages Zambians To Invest In Knowledge
President Hakainde Hichilema has encouraged Zambians to invest in their knowledge of business.
He said that by making an investment in their knowledge both personal business and future business will thrive.
The comments came during the funeral for the prominent commercial farmer, Mara Coventry, who died on 26th April 2022 at the age of 97.
He paid tribute to Mrs Coventry and praised her ability to pass on her business skills to her children and grandchildren.
30,000 Teachers To Be Employed By Friday
Daphane Chimuka, Teaching Service Commission, said during an interview yesterday that the commission had received over 100,000 applications countrywide and is due to employ 30,000 teachers by the start of this weekend.
The selection process went out last Wednesday at the district level, and Ms Chimuka explained that recruitment teams are working around the clock to meet their deadlines.
Ms Chimuka said, “The actual work started on Thursday last week because on Wednesday, the applications were being sorted. Some [selection teams] have been working on weekends to ensure that the process is completed quickly.”
Former Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda Has Passed Away
Former Finance Minister, Alexander Chikwana, has passed away due to illness.
The announcement came yesterday with the family outlining that he had suffered from an illness.
In February, President Hakiande Hichilema visited Mr Chikwana in a private hospital in Lusaka after reports that he had suffered a stroke. The president has expressed his sadness over the former minister’s death.
