PRESIDENT PLANS THREE DAY WORKING VISIT TO COPPERBELT
President Hakainde Hichilema is visiting the Copperbelt to engage in several meetings and engagements with stakeholders.
Augustine Kasongo, Provincial Permanent Secretary announced the president’s arrival to the area.
He stated, “He is coming here to meet various stakeholders in Ndola, Kitwe, Chingola, Chililabombwe and Mufulira, and will also grace a fundraising dinner that has been organised by the UPND.”
PRESIDENT HICHILEMA CALLS FOR ALL SCHOOLS IN THE COPPERBELT TO HAVE DESKS
During his visit to the Copperbelt, President Hichilema called for the provincial administration to ensure that all schools have enough desks for their students.
He outlined that children should not be sitting on the floor while learning and stated that the funds had already been released to ensure the desks can be bought.
The announcement came whilst he was speaking at the Simon Mwansa Kapweper International Airport in Ndola.
MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE TRAINS OVER ONE HUNDRED WOMEN TO GROW OWN FOOD
The Ministry of Agriculture has taught 120 women in Kanyama township of Lusaka to garden nutritious vegetables in a fight against malnutrition in the area.
The programme taught the women how to grow seeds such as pumpkin leaves, spinach, mustard, beetroots and carrots.
Aswell Chewe, Lusaka District Agriculture Coordinator said that the department was reaching out to over 1,000 vulnerable households.
