AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT FUND APPROVES $14.4 MILLION LOAN TO BOOST ZAMBIAN FOOD SECURITY 

The African Development Fund, part of the African Development Bank Group, has approved a $14.4 million loan to aid food security in the country.

The money will provide certified seeds and fertilizers to 45,000 small and medium farmers.

Women and young people will receive 50% subsidised seeds through the electronic platform.

 

FATHER ON RUN AFTER ALLEGED SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGE DAUGHTER

A 14-year-old girl has reported her 51-year-old father to a school guidance counsellor for alleged sexual abuse over the last year. 

She stated that her father sexually abused her and threatened her life if she informed anyone.

The man, named Gilbert Mwaba, is now on the run following the opening of a police investigation into the matter.

FRUIT FACTORY COMMISSIONED BY PRESIDENT HICHILEMA

President Hakiande Hichilema has commissioned a K130 million multi-fruit processing factory.

The factory will be 100% Zambian-owned and is being developed by the IDC.

The plant will process a variety of different fruits and vegetables adding to the export value of the Zambian economy.
