Man Stabs Himself To Death After Marital Dispute
On the 4th July a 40 year old man of Mikomfwa Township in Luanshya on the Copperbelt sadly died after stabbing himself with a knife in the chest following a marital dispute.
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu confirmed that Ignitious Nkomeni of House No. 2435 Maiteneke Mikomfwa stabbed himself after assaulting his wife, Ruth Kameko aged 25. The assault saw her sustain a cut on her left shoulder.
Nkomeni stabbed himself as police tried to arrest him for the wounds he caused to his wife. He later died at Thompson Hospital where health workers had tried to resuscitate him.
Zulu noted that “On 04.07.22 around 01:50am whilst police were doing night patrols being led by now reporter followed up the matter in order to apprehend him [Ignitious]. When they reached at his house the deceased, after seeing that police were after him, told them that he was going to end his life because of his wife’s behaviour there and then stabbed himself.”
