UPND Government Sets Aside K65 Million for Rural Electrification in North Western Province
In response to the surging demand for electricity driven by rapid growth and investment, the UPND government has allocated K65 million toward rural electrification initiatives in North Western Province. The announcement came from Energy Permanent Secretary Francesca Zyambo during the Business Accelerator Program in Solwezi.
Dr. Zyambo said the government is committed to ensuring that rural communities have ample access to electricity, acknowledging its pivotal role in stimulating economic development across the region. With investment projects driving growth in the province, the need for reliable electricity supply has become increasingly important. Dr. Zyambo urged mines operating in North Western Province to collaborate closely with the government to help accelerate the operation.
