20th Commemoration of the Economic Social and Cultural Council in Lusaka
Speaking through Vice President Mutale Nalumango at the 20th Commemoration of the Economic Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) flag-raising ceremony in Lusaka, President Hichilema emphasised Zambia’s ongoing commitment to enhancing economic and social ties with other African nations. The president highlighted the role of the ECOSOCC in advocating for stronger relationships among African governments to foster integration and collective progress.
President Hichilema also underscored Zambia’s unwavering support for democratic governance, human rights, and economic empowerment. He noted that the flag-raising ceremony serves as a symbol of renewed commitment to the African Union’s principles and as a tribute to the legacy of Zambia’s first President, Kenneth Kaunda.
