New signing Lakay scores twice as Pyramids FC beat Zanaco in Confederation Cup
Pyramids FC winter signing Fagrie Lakay netted twice to help the Egyptian side earn a 2-0 away win over Zambia's Zanaco as they maintained their winning start to their group-stage campaign of the African Confederation Cup on Sunday.
The 24-year-old, who joined Pyramids FC from South African side Cape Town City in January, put his side ahead just before the break after being played in by Egyptian international winger Ramadan Sobhi.
The South African added the second seven minutes from time, thanks to a fine pass from veteran midfielder Abdallah El-Said that sent him clear.
Pyramids are on top of Group A with maximum six points from two games as they also defeated Libya's Ahli Tripoli 2-1 in their opening match in Cairo last week.
The big-spending club are hoping it's third time lucky as they eye their maiden title.
