President Hichilema Mourns The Death Of Sikota Wina

President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed his sadness following the death of veteran politician and freedom fighter Sikota Wina.

The president described the statesman as being part of a brave generation of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to liberate a nation.

A statement released to ZNBC news today in Lusaka, by the Presidential Spokesperson, stated that the president had personally sent a message of condolences to Mr Wina’s family.

He said that Mr Wina risked both his own life and the lives of his family to liberate Zambia.

Further, the president posted the following statement, ‘it is with deep sadness that we have learned about the passing of Sikota Wina, this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family who have lost a beloved father, grandfather and patriarch. Zambia mourns the loss of a founding father, freedom fighter and proud patriot. MHSRIP”

During his time Mr Wina held many roles, serving as a member of the Legislative Council, a Member of the National Assembly and in various ministerial positions.
