TRADITIONAL LEADERS SET TO MEET LATER THIS YEAR
Zambian traditional leaders are set to meet in Lusaka in October this year. The meeting will allow the leaders to discuss and share their developmental knowledge from all the 288 chiefdoms in Zambia.
The news was announced by The Forum for African Traditional Authority yesterday.
The meeting reflects an important step forward in chiefs offering a helping hand in development initiatives within the country.
GOVERNMENT COMMITS TO INVOLVING THE PUBLIC IN FINDING KCM SOLUTIONS
Paul Kabuswe, the Minister for Mines and Minerals Development, has said that the government will involve the public in finding a solution to the ownership of the Konkola Copper Mines (KCM).
He said that the government is aware of the issues and complaints about the mine and wants to resolve such problems, especially those surrounding Vedanta Mineral Resources.
During the meeting of stakeholders, the Minister outlined that he would prioritise the interests of Zambians during the negotiations.
NEW SHOPPING CENTRE DUE TO BE COMPLETED BY AUGUST
The Mansa Shopping Complex is due to be completed by August this year according to Palsana Investments Limited.
The announcement came during a briefing between the firm and Luapula Province Minister, Derricky Chilundika.
The firm outlined that construction was 80% complete with just the bridge and the location to be finalised before the shopping centre is officially open to the public at the end of this year.
