REMOVAL OF MOBILE BOOTHS IN LUSAKA TO ENCOURAGE CLEANLINESS
Gary Nkombo, Local Government and Urban Development Minister, has stated that the removal of mobile money booths in Lusaka will increase cleanliness in the area.
He stated that the mobile money booths had been placed where they were not allocated and therefore have increased litter in the areas.
He stated that the operators were aware of their removal and agreed with their reallocation.
TIZ PRAISES THE GOVERNMENT FOR CORRUPTION CRACKDOWN
Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has praised the government for their crackdown on corruption.
The agency also suggested that there be investigations into the use of covid-19 resources between July 2020 and October 2021.
The announcement came as TIZ President, Sampa Kalungu, spoke at a media briefing in Lusaka to commemorate the African Union Anti-Corruption Day.
GOVERNMENT SUSPENDS MINING IN SERENJE TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
The Ministry of Green Economy and Environment has announced that some projects in Serenje and Mkushi will be closed due to concerns about the environment.
Such projects looked to mine manganese but the Ministry has closed them down following the breaking of the Environmental Management Act.
