COVID-19 MEASURES HEIGHTENED AHEAD OF AU MEETINGS
Increased health measures to combat Covid-19 have been announced in anticipation of the African Union (AU) meetings, starting tomorrow.
The measures will include thermal scanners, the construction of three covid-19 testing sights and hotels linked to covid testing sites.
Additionally, a clinic and three isolation facilities have been established at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport which will be equipped with 28 nurses, 40 environmental health staff, two laboratory workers, two surveillance officers and five doctors.
IMF CREDITOR COMMITTEES TO MEET SOON
Creditor committees to discuss the restructuring of debt in Zambia are due to meet in the next ten days.
The news was announced by International Monetary Fund (IMF), Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on Tuesday.
She said that the meetings should bring a positive outcome in order to “energize other countries to step forward.”
FORMER EDUCATION MINISTER BACKS FREE EDUCATION POLICY
The former Higher Education Minister, Brian Mushimba, has outlined that the is pleased with the free education policy put forward by the New Dawn Government.
He said that the policy will help reduce inequalities within Zambia and that the government should be applauded for its work.
