VICE PRESIDENT TO VISIT INDIA
Mutale Nalumango, Zambian Vice President, is expected to visit India tomorrow.
The Vice President is set to attend the 17th Exim Bank Conclave on India hosted by the Africa Growth Partnership.
The announcement was reported by ZAINS who outlined that the event will be held tomorrow and Wednesday. Additionally, they reported that the event would see more than 33 African countries in attendance.
AU PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION INITIATIVE
The African Union (AU) has pledged its support for the Education Initiative, which was launched during this year’s mid-year Coordination Meeting held in Zambia.
The free education policy includes the recruitment of 30,000 teachers, the promotion and empowerment of girls in science and the overall support of women and girls in Zambia.
In his speech, President Hakainde Hichilema explained that the initiative will help 80,000 girls by implementing grants for school necessities and access to health facilities.
EU MEETS WITH PRESIDENT HICHILEMA
A delegation from the European Union (EU) paid President Hakainde Hichilema a courtesy call on Friday.
During the meeting, the President thanked the delegation for their continued support in various sectors.
He also expressed his excitement to access the Global Gateway fund to improve various areas such as education, health and infrastructure.
