TEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH STEALING 201 MATTRESSES 

Ten people have been arrested in Kitwe after they looted and stole U-Rest Form Company mattresses.

The crime happened when a truck flipped onto its side near the rail crossing opposite St Anthony Compound in Kitwe.

Overall 201 mattresses had been taken by the robbers.

 

PEACE AND SECURITY CRITICAL FOR DEVELOPMENT – PRESIDENT HICHILEMA

President Hakainde Hichilema has outlined that peace and security are critical for Africa’s development.

The statement was made yesterday during the African Union (AU) summit in Lusaka.

He also outlined that Zambia would continue to play a role in supporting the AU to actualise its aspirations for continental-wide security, peace, economic growth and development.

 

CDF BURSARIES APPROVED IN NDOLA

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has approved bursary applications worth K1.2 million for secondary boarding schools and skills training.

The bursaries concern the area of the Bwana Mkubwa, Ndola constituency and have been provided for through the Constituency Development Fund.

The loans include six secondary school bursaries and 273 skills development bursaries.
